Core uses a selected Qwen3.5-2B foundation and is being developed as the middle tier of the Adil Edge model family. Work remains on numerical behaviour, task performance, service-level resource use and cross-platform readiness.
A preliminary memory observation.
One Q4_K_M 8K-context CPU probe on a shared Intel Xeon test host recorded approximately 2.12 GB process resident memory. This is a single research observation with pending independent review; it is not a supported laptop memory requirement or proof that the complete 4 GB service objective has been met.
Why older measurements are different.
Earlier Core experiments used a separate Qwen3-1.7B foundation. Their speed and memory numbers cannot be described as performance of the newer Qwen3.5-2B selection.
What remains.
Repeated measurements, complete-service profiling, strict numerical acceptance, realistic task evaluation, training decisions, supported package preparation and a formal release approval.
